Biographies

Below are short biographies of each of the writers of this blog, most of whom are Brahma Kumaris Representatives to the United Nations. However, we often have interns join our various offices for extended periods of time and also have delegates to various UN conferences who will also be contributing and so we have also included them also.

New York

Gayatri Naraine: Representative of the Brahma Kumaris to the United Nations Economic and Social Council and Department of Public Information. Areas of interest include — exploring the transformational depth of spiritual domain and the impact this has on the actions we take for world benefit. Integrating spiritual values and principles in social, cultural, and humanitarian issues. Coordinating community outreach projects that bring the work of the UN to the lives and wellbeing of the common people.

Julia Grindon-Welch: Representative of the Brahma Kumaris to the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) since 1993. Areas of interest include: Values, Women, Social Development, and Human Rights. Co-Chair of the Values Caucus at the UN. Member of the CONGO Committee on Spirituality, Values and Global Concerns in New York.

Erik Larson: Representative of the Brahma Kumaris to the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). Areas of interest include Religion/Spirituality and Human Rights. Member of the CONGO Committee on Freedom of Religion or Belief and the Spiritual Caucus.

Kymberly Fayth Schneider: Representative of the Brahma Kumaris to the United Nations Department of Public Information (DPI) since 2001. Areas of interest include: Peace and Security, Women, and Human Rights.

Tamasin Ramsay PhD: Representative of the Brahma Kumaris to the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). Her areas of expertise include: Reintegrating spirituality into social and humanitarian outreach programs, particularly disaster preparedness and response. Her interests include human rights, spiritual rights and the wellbeing and dignity of vulnerable populations. Tamasin continues to research the mechanics of spiritual transformation as a method to remove suffering. 

Former Interns

Gabriella Havard: Intern (Feb - May 08). Gabrielle studied English Literature and Psychology at Rhodes University, South Africa. Her interest lies in exploring personal power and potential and it is this passion that has directed her onto a spiritual path and inspires her towards a career in values education and empowerment of young women.

Geneva

Helen Sayers: Representative of the Brahma Kumaris to the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) since 1999. Areas of interest include: Education, Peace, Issues concerning the African continent, Values, the Environment, and Human Rights.

Valeriane Bernard: Representative of the Brahma Kumaris to the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). Areas of interest include: Women, Human Rights, Education, Spirituality, Freedom of Religion and Belief, Environment, Peace, Mediation, Values, and Empowerment.

Vienna

Friederike Klanacsky: Brahma Kumaris to the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). Areas of interest include connectedness to fulfill purpose of searching, and has a firm faith that uniting the world can happen through friendship, collaboration and the connecting of hearts.

Reiner Barth: Representative of the Brahma Kumaris to the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). Reiner brings his clarity and understanding from Psychiatry and believes that behind every complex global problem, exists disturbance within our human-spiritual-emotional systems.
